1920- The name Committee on Urban Conditions Among Negroes was shortened to the National Urban League or NUL.
- National Urban League starts Vocational Opportunity Campaign in RI under Julius Robinson
- August 18, Urban League of RI is established. General Electric executive Bradford Kenyon, is elected first Board Chair.
- In a search aided by the NUL, James Williams, former director of the YMCA in Montclair, NJ is hired as first CEO
- 1940 Urban League of RI or ULRI becomes affiliate of National Urban League
- Agency creates Negro Child and Family Life Program
- ULRI Education committee sends kits to school guidance counselors to support black student achievement
- 1941 ULRI launches fair employment drive
- The Agency joins Providence Council of Social Agencies (CSA)
