Job Description

East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a full-time Coordinator for LIHEAP/Safety Net who is responsible for intake, assessment, data entry, basic information and referral, and all other activities related to the LIHEAP and Safety Net programs. May include regular travel to agency sites and flexible hours, as well as picking up of products in the community for food pantries.

EBCAP is offering a two-step sign-on bonus totaling $1,000 for external applicants.

Assist the Director of LIHEAP (Low Income Energy Assistance Program)/Safety Net with all aspects of managing LIHEAP, LIHWAP (Low Income Household Water Assistance Program), related services, and Safety Net including hiring, training, and supervising staff, which includes, but is not limited to: LIHEAP/Safety Net staff and Family Center Interns. The Coordinator LIHEAP/Safety Net will be the primary point of contact for the Newport and Tiverton Family Centers’ Safety Net and food pantries and ensure effective usage of identified basic needs/social service funding and pantry funding(codes) for the Newport and Tiverton pantries. The Coordinator will assist the Director with additional administrative functions including attending agency meetings and submitting reports as assigned and fulfilling the duties of the Director as assigned during absences.

Research, assess, and apply the tenets and requirements of the LIHEAP/Safety Net Programs for all identified program clients. Assist the Director in promoting the programs throughout EBCAP and the community to increase participation.

Assist Director of LIHEAP/Safety Net with hiring, training, and supervising of LIHEAP/ Safety Net Advocates, interns, and other positions as assigned.

Supervise and provide strength-based coaching and evaluation to LIHEAP/Safety Net Family Advocates.

Coordinate/Oversee daily operations of LHEAP/Family Centers. This may include, but is not limited to creating coverage schedules, filing/archiving dated LIHEAP/Safety Net applications, ensuring timely processing of LIHEAP mail, and managing client appointments.

Perform primary data entry of deliverable tickets in database to track fuel usage of clients and ensure vendors are using federal funding appropriately.

Assist LIHEAP/ Safety Net Director with administering extended LIHEAP program and check runs to vendor.

Bachelor's degree in a human service field is required. Previous experience in navigating LIHEAP benefits and supervisory experience preferred.
