Position Summary: The Perinatal & Childhood Clinician will support early childhood and childhood programming in the Best Start program This clinician will support child and family wellness at critical stages of development, and infant, child, and family social and emotional health and wellbeing. The clinician will provide screenings for developmental milestones, relational bonding, mental health and substance use/abuse, and Social Determinant of Health. Staff will also be responsible for therapeutic services, clinical consultation for team members, and linkages to services within the community for families.
This role networks with a larger behavioral health team within various agency departments, is a member of the organization Clinical Committee, and coordinates across all childhood clinical initiatives within the health division. This position participates on the agencies after hours on call system and provides supervision for licensure where indicated.
Qualifications:
Required Master's in counseling, Social Work or other related fields.
LCSW preferred.
Graduate of Board approved and accredited social work program or license equivalent.
Training and expertise in infant mental health and attachment.
Training in trauma informed care.
Experience with evidence based early childhood programming is a plus.
Current and valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Current Infant/Child/Adult CPR/First Aid Certification.
Bilingual skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
Continuing Education Requirements:
As needed to maintain individual licensure and meet RI EOHHS and DOH standards.
Maintain CPR/First Aid.
Physical Requirements:
Travel to and from clients’ residence, community locations and office site, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators.
Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
Ability to communicate effectively.
