ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The receptionist will ensure that the agency’s main telephone line is answered promptly, that calls are transferred appropriately, and that clients and guests are greeted professionally. The receptionist will serve as a front line staff for the agency and remain up to date on agency departments and staff. Distributes and sorts internal and external mail for the agency. Assists with sorting the mail and using the mail meter for outgoing mail. Able to float between multiple sites including agency locations and other locations throughout Providence.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or one year office experience.
Bilingual Spanish/English required.
Experience working with a multi-line computerized phone system is preferred.
Strong oral communication skills, including a compassionate and patient demeanor to work with members of the public.
Able to handle frequent interruptions in a professional manner.
Excellent customer service skills.
Prior experience working in an administrative capacity preferred.
Ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel at an intermediate level is preferred.
Works well individually, as well as part of a team.
Ability to take initiative.
The position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, registration, inspection and driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift 20 lbs.
Ability to travel between agency locations and climb stairs.
